    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I know if Sage Desert Assisted Living and Memory Care

Sage Desert offers a wide variety of personal care services, but they are not equipped to help people with certain care needs. Unlike a nursing home, Sage Desert is not prepared to help people who have chronic illness and injury who require ongoing skilled nursing care. Their exclusively non-medical services are for people who need help with their activities of daily living and who want the peace of mind that comes with around-the-clock care.

Before applying to Sage Desert, prospective residents can ask themselves a few questions to determine if the community is right for them:

    • Is the person ambulatory or are they confined to their bed?
    • Does the person need long-term, ongoing medical attention?
    • Does the person need rehabilitation?
    • Does the person have memory impairments, Alzheimer’s or dementia?

If a person requires continual medical attention or they are permanently confined to their bed, Sage Desert may not be a suitable alternative to skilled nursing care. Their staff is not equipped to help people with advanced medical needs and the community may not admit applicants who require ongoing health care services for the person’s safety.

Alternatively, the Sage Desert is well-suited for people with Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss, and dementia thanks to their exceptional In the Moment® memory care services. The In the Moment® memory care program offers Alzheimer’s care services designed for people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

To learn more about Sage Desert’s long-term care services and admission requirements, use the link above to make an inquiry.

Q: How do I know if Sage Desert’s In the Moment® Memory Care program is right for me or my family member?

Living with Alzheimer's disease can be challenging for people who are learning to adjust to life with memory impairments. Alzheimer's and dementia present unique obstacles for caregivers and those living with it, making it important to choose the right memory care program when the time comes.

At Sage Desert, the Alzheimer's care staff understand each person's dementia journey is distinct to them, and no two people are the same. They appreciate that everyone’s Alzheimer’s disease symptoms are different, and what may work for one person may not work the same way for someone else’s memory loss, Alzheimer’s or dementia symptoms. The staff works closely with everyone personally create individualized care plans tailored to their needs, giving people living with Alzheimer's and dementia a comfortable, secure environment for them to retire.

Sage Desert’s memory care services are ideal for anyone living with Alzheimer’s disease whose symptoms do not require skilled nursing care. They can treat anyone with memory impairments, from mild memory loss to late-stage Alzheimer’s or dementia.

To learn more about the community’s Alzheimer’s care programs, memory care services, and treatments for people living with Alzheimer’s disease, use the links above to schedule a tour or make an inquiry.

Q: Does Sage Desert offer short-term care programs for in-home care recipients?

Yes! Sage Desert offers temporary respite care for people who normally receive in-home care from a member of their family. When their primary caregiver needs time away from their duties, Sage Desert can step in for up to 30 consecutive days and provide professional care. To learn more about the community’s respite care program and other short-term services, interested parties can use the link above to make an inquiry.

Q: How much does Sage Desert cost?

Sage Desert’s monthly rental fees are different for everyone, depending on which apartment they choose and the services they need. Like many assisted living facilities and memory care communities, the price varies for each person according to their chosen floor plan (for example, a studio costs less than a one-bedroom apartment) and their care needs. The community charges a base rental fee that includes the resident’s room and board, housekeeping, and meals, then add fees according to the services a person receives.
